What letter score leads to a reply?
A score of 100 points or more gives a positive reply, with a 50% chance of a random furniture or clothing item and a friendship gain of +3 without a present or +6 with one. A score of 50 to 99 gets no reply but the same friendship gain. Less than 50 points gets a negative reply, with -2 friendship without a present or +1 with one.
When does quest scoring apply?
When a villager has asked you to write to them, mailing that letter uses a rank-based system instead of the normal point scoring. The letter ranks from 0 to 11, and a response letter ranked 3 or higher always carries an attached present that differs by rank.
Does the tool match every version of the game?
It reproduces the game's scoring behavior, including the trigram tables that are bugged in the North American and Australian versions, so their tables are longer than intended.
