About Betacraft Launcher
Betacraft is a web-based project focused on making legacy Minecraft versions accessible and functional across modern and retro hardware. Its core offering, Betacraft Launcher, supports all existing pre-1.6 Minecraft versions and fixes common issues including game crashes, missing sound, and broken player skins, with a full list of fixes hosted on its GitHub page. The project also provides browser access to a verified server list for Minecraft servers, and offers complementary tools including LegacyFix, Betacraft Proxy and Uberbukkit for legacy Minecraft use cases. Betacraft runs a public Beta 1.7.3 survival Minecraft server with custom features including staff-controlled land claims, a barter-only economy, and a separate skylands dimension with unique progression rules. A successor launcher (v2) is in development to support nearly all Minecraft versions and platforms.
