About College ROI Dataset
The College ROI Dataset publishes CSV tables on 30-year net present value for U.S. colleges and majors, derived from FREOPP, IPEDS, and BEA data. It covers ROI by major category, institutions by state for resident students, resident versus non-resident costs at public universities, AI applicability by major, and an institution reference table.
Program-level ROI comes from the FREOPP 2021 publication using College Scorecard earnings cohorts from 2015-2017, in 2022 dollars with a 3% real discount rate. Coverage is U.S. only, and the out-of-state file includes ten campuses that do not admit first-time freshmen.
