About Context Data

Context Data’s InterLock is a proxy layer that sits between AI agents and production data stores including databases, files, and APIs. It enforces role-based access controls down to table and column levels for SQL sources, redacts sensitive fields from agent-facing responses, holds high-risk write operations for human approval, and maintains an append-only audit log of all agent data requests. The tool requires no changes to existing AI agents, only a connection string update, and deploys as infrastructure within the user’s environment, supporting protocols including Model Context Protocol (MCP), Postgres wire protocol, and HTTP. As of the source material, 13 capabilities are in public beta, 1 is disabled, and 3 are planned.

Key features

  • Role-based access control for agent requests, down to SQL table and column level.
  • Automatic redaction of sensitive fields in data returned to agents.
  • Holds high-risk write operations for human approval before execution.
  • Append-only audit log of all agent data requests and admin actions.
  • Supports MCP, Postgres wire protocol, and HTTP for agent connections.
  • Deploys as in-environment infrastructure with no agent code changes required.
Best for: Teams running AI agents that require controlled, audited access to production databases, files, and APIs without modifying existing agent code.
Good for
  • Provides fine-grained data access controls at the protocol level, addressing a gap in existing agent permission tools.
