About CS50

CS50's Introduction to Programming with Python (CS50P) teaches how to read, write, test and debug Python code. It covers functions, variables and types, conditionals, loops, exceptions, unit tests, third-party libraries, regular expressions, classes and objects, and reading and writing files, with exercises inspired by real-world problems.

The material is organized into ten weeks of lectures, shorts and problem sets, followed by a final project. Non-Harvard students can work through the OpenCourseWare version; an edX account is needed to submit work for feedback, and certificate enrollment is through edX. The course focuses only on Python, and the source notes that CS50x is still needed for a broader introduction to computer science.
