About Database of Old High German and Old Saxon Glossed Manuscripts

BStK Online is a repertory of manuscripts containing Old High German, Old Saxon, Old Dutch and Old Frisian glosses, maintained at Otto-Friedrich-Universität Bamberg. It builds on the 2005 printed catalogue of Old High German and Old Saxon gloss manuscripts and currently records 1537 manuscripts, including 254 newly identified items.

It provides manuscript data with links to codicological databases such as Handschriftencensus.de and manuscripta.at and to online digitizations, along with gloss number and type, entry technique, editions and language. Search and filter tools allow combined queries by chronological, geographical, content and glossographic criteria. Coverage is updated continuously, but entry detail is uneven and ranges from detailed descriptions to name-only mentions.
