About Digital Porous Media Portal
Digital Porous Media Portal, formerly known as Digital Rocks Portal, is a web portal for storing, retrieving, sharing, organizing, visualizing and analyzing images of varied porous microstructures. It hosts public datasets that users can browse, search and download, and it lets registered users create projects and upload originating, analysis and specimen data, related publications, and accompanying measurements such as porosity, capillary pressure, permeability, electrical, NMR and elastic properties. The portal is intended to support modeling and prediction of porous material properties in petroleum, civil and environmental engineering, and geology, including validation of modeling approaches and upscaling to larger geological models.
As of May 2025 the portal had been updated and was in beta testing, with feedback invited. Login requires multi-factor authentication for all users starting June 2, 2025, and the user agreement was updated on May 21, 2025. No pricing information is given on the homepage.
