About ECWolf

ECWolf is a source port for Wolfenstein 3D, Spear of Destiny and Super 3D Noah's Ark. It is based on the Wolf4SDL code base and pulls a substantial amount of code from ZDoom. A single binary plays all supported games, and all game data can be kept in one directory. It runs on Windows, Mac OS X, Android, Ubuntu and other Linux-based operating systems.

For players, ECWolf adds modern control schemes, widescreen and tall-screen support with aspect ratio correction, and unlimited save slots. For mod authors, it aims to provide mod editing capabilities without modifying source code, so mods can be packaged into a single file instead of replacing entire data sets. LAN multiplayer supports up to 11 clients. Accuracy to vanilla Wolfenstein 3D is described as roughly comparable to ZDoom's accuracy to vanilla Doom, and support for more Wolfenstein engine games is planned for the future.
