About Exonera Tor

ExoneraTor maintains a database of IP addresses that have been part of the Tor network. Users enter an IP address and a date to check whether a Tor relay was running on that address on that date.

It can store more than one IP address per relay when registration and Internet exit addresses differ, and records whether the relay permitted traffic to the open Internet at that time. It does not hold records of traffic passing over the network or its origin.

Key features

  • Search an IP address with a date for past Tor relay use
  • Store multiple IP addresses per relay for registration and exit
  • Show whether a relay allowed traffic to the open Internet
Best for: People who need to check whether an IP address was a Tor relay on a specific date.
Good for
  • Provides date-specific results for a given IP address
  • Accounts for relays with different registration and exit addresses
  • Site data is freely available under a CC0 declaration
Watch out for
  • Does not provide records of traffic passing over the network or its origin
