About Frontend List

Instance list is a PixivFE documentation page that catalogues PixivFE instances submitted to the project. Entries are ordered from oldest to newest by submission date and are grouped by network: clearnet instances reachable in any regular browser, Tor onion services, and I2P services. For clearnet entries the table records the instance name, URL, country, any protection in use, whether analytics are present, an HTTP Observatory grade and status.

The page also states the rules an instance must meet to be listed: it must have been up for at least a week, hold at least 80% stable uptime according to UptimeRobot, be served via a domain name, and use HTTPS if it is a clearnet instance. Instances using DDoS protection, MITM or anti-bot measures must be marked as such, and analytics and ads are not permitted. Instances running modified source code must publish their source and changes under the GNU AGPL. Tor and I2P instances are described as offering better privacy than clearnet ones but potentially slower performance due to onion routing and the I2P network.

Key features

  • Lists submitted PixivFE instances, ordered oldest to newest by submission date
  • Groups entries into clearnet, Tor onion service and I2P sections
  • Shows country, protection type, analytics presence and HTTP Observatory grade per clearnet instance
  • Documents listing rules: one week uptime, 80% UptimeRobot stability, HTTPS for clearnet
  • Requires instances to mark DDoS, MITM and anti-bot protection
  • Explains submitting an instance through the repository's Add Instance issue template
Best for: People choosing a PixivFE instance to use, including Tor or I2P options, and operators who want their instance listed.
Good for

  • States listing requirements and reserves the right to decline or remove instances
  • Includes Tor and I2P access routes alongside clearnet instances

  • Tor and I2P instances may perform more slowly due to onion routing and I2P
  • Some listed instances are marked as loading external tracking scripts
