About Immutable Orderbook

Immutable Orderbook is a decentralised trading protocol that shares orders across marketplaces in the Immutable ecosystem, so listings and offers created in one marketplace can be viewed and filled in others. It supports fixed-price listings, single-item bids, collection bids, trait bids, and metadata bids.

It handles ERC-721 unique items and ERC-1155 multi-copy items, with ERC-20 tokens and native IMX as payment currencies, using a maker/taker model with tracked order statuses. Use requires authenticated users, deployed NFT contracts and sufficient funds, plus Seaport token approvals, including a gas-costing seller approval once per collection, and asynchronous status updates.

Key features

  • Orders shared across Immutable marketplaces for cross-platform filling
  • Fixed-price listings and single-item buy offers
  • Collection, trait-filtered, and metadata-filtered buy offers
  • ERC-721 single-quantity orders and ERC-1155 partial fills
  • ERC-20 and native IMX payment currencies for orders
  • Protocol-level royalty enforcement on secondary sales
Best for: Marketplace developers on Immutable who need shared listings and offers across platforms.
Good for
  • Orders created in one marketplace are visible and fillable across the ecosystem
  • Sellers create orders by signing a message, with gas paid when orders are filled
  • Royalties are enforced at the protocol level on secondary sales
Watch out for
  • Sellers need a one-time Seaport approval per collection, which costs gas
  • Orders can become inactive if balance is insufficient or approval is revoked
  • Maker fees are set at order creation and cannot be changed

Immutable Orderbook FAQ

What types of orders can be created?
Fixed-price listings, bids for specific NFTs, and collection bids, trait bids, and metadata bids for buying items that match a collection or metadata criteria.
What approvals are required before trading?
Sellers approve the Seaport contract once per collection, which costs gas. Buyers approve Seaport to spend ERC-20 tokens; native IMX orders do not require buyer approval.
How do maker and taker roles work?
Makers create listings or bids and set maker fees at creation that cannot be changed. Takers fill existing orders and taker fees are set at fulfillment time.
