About IODP Bremen Core Repository

The IODP Bremen Core Repository at the University of Bremen stores deep-sea cores from the International Ocean Drilling Programme (IODP³), International Ocean Discovery Program, Integrated Ocean Drilling Program, Ocean Drilling Program, and Deep Sea Drilling Project. Holdings cover the Atlantic Ocean, Mediterranean, Black and Baltic Seas and Arctic Ocean, with more than 193 km of cores from 107 expeditions in around 300,000 boxes.

Scientists can request samples through the Sample and Data Request System (SaDR) and use the Web Interface for BCR Curatorial Data to check prior sampling, export records as CSV, and view Geo Sample Profile reports. Samples can be taken by repository staff or by visiting scientists; land-based cores from ODP Legs 150X and 174AX are stored at Rutgers in Piscataway, NJ.
