About iOS App

Beszel Companion is an unofficial, native iOS client for the Beszel server monitoring platform. It connects to a Beszel instance's API so users can view server and container statistics on an iPhone or iPad. A Beszel instance must be reachable from the internet for the app to work. By default only an admin user can read all data, and the project's documentation recommends creating a read-only user through the PocketBase settings for better security. Login can use SSO configured on the Beszel server, and credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain.

The project is open source and distributed under the MIT License. Some SSO providers, including Google, do not support the custom URL scheme redirects the app uses, so sign-in through those providers does not work unless the Beszel API adds an HTTPS redirect endpoint for mobile clients. Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets do not work in copies installed by sideloading the .ipa file, and the project recommends the App Store version for widget support.

Key features

  • Charts for CPU, memory, swap, disk, network, load, temperature, GPU and battery.
  • Browse Docker containers with CPU, memory, network usage and logs.
  • Custom dashboard for pinning favorite charts, with search and sorting.
  • Push notifications with configurable thresholds for several system metrics.
  • Home Screen and Lock Screen widgets showing glanceable stats.
  • Manage and switch between multiple Beszel hubs and their systems.
Best for: People who run a Beszel server monitoring instance and want to check system and container statistics from an iPhone or iPad.
Good for
  • Supports mTLS client certificates, SSO / OAuth and 2FA, with credentials stored in the iOS Keychain.
  • Open source under the MIT License.
  • Available in English, French, and Polish.
Watch out for
  • Requires a Beszel instance that is accessible from the internet.
  • Home Screen widgets do not function when the app is installed by sideloading the .ipa file.
  • Sign-in through some SSO providers, such as Google, does not work without an HTTPS redirect endpoint in the Beszel API.

iOS App FAQ

Does the app need a Beszel server to work?
Yes. A working Beszel instance accessible from the internet is required to use Beszel Companion.
Can I sign in with SSO?
Yes, if SSO is configured on the Beszel instance. You need to add beszel-companion://redirect to the redirect_uris of your SSO providers. Some providers, such as Google, do not support this redirect method.
Why do the widgets not work on my copy?
Widgets do not work when the app is installed by sideloading the .ipa file, because sideloading prevents the widget from sharing data and credentials with the main app through the App Group. The project recommends downloading the official version from the App Store.
