About Kodus

Kodus is an AI code review tool for pull requests. It examines a change together with the callers, callees and tests around it, including linked code in other repositories, and checks pull requests against team rules as well as requirements pulled from Jira, Linear or Notion. Review rules can be written in plain language or imported from existing .cursorrules, CLAUDE.md or AGENTS.md files.

Key features

  • Cross-file and cross-repo bug detection using callers, callees and tests
  • Review rules in plain language or imported from .cursorrules, CLAUDE.md, AGENTS.md
  • Validates pull requests against requirements pulled from Jira, Linear and Notion
  • Self-hosting via Docker Compose on a VM or Helm on Kubernetes
  • Own OpenAI-compatible model key on every plan, model per repository, optional fallback
  • No hourly cap on pull request reviews when using your own key
Best for: Teams that want AI pull request review while choosing their own model provider and, if they prefer, running the tool on their own infrastructure.
Good for
  • The core is published under the AGPL license and self-hosting is available on the free Community plan.
  • You bring your own model API keys on every plan and pay the provider at list price, with no token markup.
  • Reviews are not capped per hour when you use your own key; the limit is your model provider's rate limit.
Watch out for
  • Model token costs are billed separately by the provider you choose, not by Kodus.
  • Self-hosting requires familiarity with Docker Compose or Kubernetes and Helm.
  • Enterprise features such as SSO, RBAC, audit logs and dedicated support are not part of the free Community plan.
