LightFM
A Python implementation of a number of popular recommendation algorithms for both implicit and explicit feedback.
About LightFM
LightFM is a Python library for building recommendation systems with both implicit and explicit feedback. It extends traditional matrix factorization by incorporating user and item metadata.
Each user and item is represented as the sum of the latent representations of its features. This allows recommendations to generalize to new users through user features and to new items through item features. The method is described in the LightFM paper on arXiv.
You can install it with pip on Linux, macOS with Homebrew Python, and Windows with Miniconda, or run it in a Docker container. The documentation explains model fitting and prediction with the LightFM class, use of feature matrices, multi-threaded training, and loss functions such as BPR, WARP, and k-OS WARP. It includes examples using the Movielens dataset and coupon purchase prediction. It suits Python developers, students, and researchers working on recommender systems.
