About Models.dev
Models.dev is an open-source database that collects specifications, pricing, and capabilities for AI models in one place. The project was started as a community-contributed effort because no single database covered all available AI models. The maintainers also use it internally in opencode.
The data can be read through a public API at models.dev/api.json, with optional filtering by model type. Model-only metadata, provider-specific serving details, and provider logos are available through separate endpoints. The data is stored in the GitHub repository as TOML files and is maintained with community contributions. The source states that the project needs help keeping the data up to date.

- Provider-agnostic model metadata endpoint separate from provider serving details
- Combined catalog endpoint with provider endpoints and model-only metadata
- Provider logos served as SVG files, with a default logo when none exists
- Data stored as TOML files organized by provider and model in the repository
- Open-source project with data stored in a public GitHub repository
