About National Cancer Data Base
The National Cancer Database (NCDB) is a clinical oncology database built from hospital registry data collected at more than 1,500 Commission on Cancer-accredited facilities. It is used to analyze and track patients with malignant neoplastic diseases, their treatments, and outcomes.
The database offers reporting tools that give cancer programs comparative benchmarks against similar programs, along with tools for quality improvement, quality assurance, and surveillance measures. Participant User Files are HIPAA-compliant data files, but they are available only through an application process. Public reporting is subject to NCDB Terms of Use and reporting conditions. Data submission for CoC-accredited hospital registries now runs through the Rapid Cancer Reporting System, which replaces the earlier RQRS and annual Call for Data.
