About Openclaw

OpenClaw is an assistant that runs on the user's own computer through a Gateway, used as a personal assistant on a laptop or as a shared team deployment depending on configuration. It connects to messaging services including Discord, iMessage, Slack, Teams, Telegram and WhatsApp, with apps for macOS, iOS, Android, Windows and Linux.

State, memory and credentials are stored on local hardware, while prompts are sent to the model provider and chat platforms the user configures. By default it performs a daily version check, with anonymous feature statistics opt-in; setting update.checkOnStart to false disables both. Installation supports macOS, Linux and Windows and provisions a Node.js runtime when needed.
