Research Vessel Observation Database
The Research Vessel Observation Database provides publicly available observations collected by Japanese research vessels.

About Research Vessel Observation Database
The Research Vessel Observation Database makes observational data from Japanese research vessels publicly available. It covers data acquired through the joint use of vessels such as Hakuho-Maru, Shinsei-Maru, and Tansei-Maru, and is released in accordance with the FAIR Principles on Data to support open science and the United Nations Decade of Ocean Science.
Data from FY2019 onward is stored by JAMSTEC and released sequentially after a publication moratorium period expires. The Atmosphere and Ocean Research Institute (AORI) is working on releasing data from before FY2019. The site offers cruise lists, data searches, chart display, and CTD cast searches, and part of the information is provided only in Japanese. Data and metadata may be used, redistributed, or reused without restrictions, but users should cite the cruise name and report/publication when publishing.
