About Simple Voice Chat

Simple Voice Chat is a Minecraft mod that adds proximity voice chat, so players hear others based on in-game distance. It also offers group chats for talking to players outside your vicinity, password protection for groups, and configurable audio options such as push-to-talk, voice activation, automatic microphone gain adjustment, per-player volume and audio recording with separate tracks. The project supports Fabric, NeoForge, Forge, Quilt, Bukkit, Spigot and Paper, along with Velocity, BungeeCord and Waterfall proxies.

The mod requires special setup on the server. A UDP port, 24454 by default, must be opened or voice chat will not work; this port can be changed in the server configuration. Voice chat is encrypted with AES, but the project states that security is not guaranteed and use is at your own risk. A public API and addons provide additional features and functionality.
