About Vellum

Vellum is a personal AI assistant that keeps long-term memory of a user's context, preferences, people and work across conversations. It runs natively on Mac and is reachable through iOS, Android, web, voice, email, Telegram, Slack and terminal, with the same memory, chats, tasks and schedules shared across those surfaces. It can send emails, manage calendars, browse the web, create slides, write code, run deep research, monitor websites and carry out recurring background tasks, and it includes built-in skills for Google Workspace, Slack, Notion and the filesystem, plus support for community plugins or custom skills.

By default the assistant runs locally on the user's machine; Vellum states that memory and credentials are not accessible to Vellum unless the user opts in, and that Vellum Cloud runs the assistant in an isolated container provisioned for that user. Actions such as emailing new contacts, modifying important files or spending credits require explicit approval until the user marks them as trusted. Model choice is switchable among OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or open weights via Ollama.
