About Virtual Catalogue for Theology and Church
The Virtual Catalogue for Theology and Church (VThK) is a combined search tool for the catalogues of special libraries in theology and religion. It is a project of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft katholisch-theologischer Bibliotheken and the Verband kirchlich-wissenschaftlicher Bibliotheken, led by the Archdiocesan and Cathedral Library of Cologne. The site lists participating libraries in Germany and Austria, including the Katalog der österreichischen Ordensbibliotheken (KOBI) in Vienna.
Users can run a standard or advanced search. The search applies AND logic to multiple fields and title terms, supports right truncation with a question mark, and allows author searches by surname and first name. Results can optionally include a cumulative, alphabetically sorted list of short titles. The search requires JavaScript and cookies, and some of the linked catalogues cannot be reached without cookies.
