OpenAI Whisper is a general-purpose speech-recognition model trained with large-scale weak supervision.
Whisper.cpp
whisper.cpp runs a minimal speech-recognition example in the browser using WebAssembly and a user-loaded model file.

About Whisper.cpp
Whisper.cpp's WASM example is a minimal speech-recognition demo that runs entirely in the browser. After loading a ggml Whisper model file, you choose an audio file to transcribe or record audio from the microphone, then press Transcribe and read the results in a text area. A language selector and Transcribe/Translate modes are provided, along with a thread count setting. The page notes that computation is quite heavy and may take a few seconds to complete.
Requirements and limits are stated on the page: the browser must support WASM SIMD instructions, and Firefox cannot load files larger than 256 MB, so Chrome is suggested for larger files. Model files are supplied by the user; the page lists standard and quantized Whisper models ranging from a 31 MB quantized tiny model up to a 1030 MB quantized large model, and recommends tiny or base. A source code link is included.
