About advertools

advertools is an open source Python package for online marketing productivity and analysis. It provides independent functions for tasks including website crawling, downloading XML sitemaps, checking URLs blocked by robots.txt, extracting hashtags from text, and generating keywords with kw_generate.

Most functions return a DataFrame or a file that can be read into one for use with tools such as pandas. Use requires basic Python; no-code interactive versions for non-coders were described as in development.

Key features

  • Extract hashtags from lists of text
  • Crawl websites for SEO analysis
  • Check URLs blocked by robots.txt files
  • Download and process XML sitemaps
