About AI-Video-Transcriber

AI-Video-Transcriber is an open-source tool for transcribing, summarizing and archiving videos and podcasts. It accepts a URL from YouTube, TikTok, Bilibili, Apple Podcasts, SoundCloud and 30+ other platforms, or a local audio, video or plain text file, then runs transcription, text optimization, conditional translation and summarization. For platforms with native subtitles, transcripts are extracted without downloading audio, and Faster-Whisper is used as a fallback when subtitles are unavailable. Summon summaries can be generated in 11 languages, and the tool can optionally keep the original video alongside the transcript and stream live job status over server-sent events.

Users supply their own API key for any OpenAI-compatible endpoint (OpenAI, OpenRouter, local LLM and similar), configured directly in the UI. Running it requires Python 3.8+, FFmpeg, and an API key; installation is offered through a script, Docker, or manual steps.
