About social-auto-upload

social-auto-upload is an open-source Python project that automates posting videos to multiple social platforms, including Douyin, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, WeChat Channels, Baijiahao, Alipay Life Account, Weibo, Hupu, TikTok and YouTube. Depending on the platform it handles video uploads, image-and-text posts and scheduled publishing, and it exposes a sau CLI plus agent skills for tools such as OpenClaw, Codex and Claude Code. Support is uneven across platforms: scheduled publishing exists only on some, image posts are missing on several, Weibo caps titles at 30 characters and Hupu requires titles of 4–40 characters.

The project is undergoing a refactor toward a unified CLI and headless browser operation, with each platform handled by its own uploader module. The older web frontend is still in the repository but is no longer the mainline and is not guaranteed to run or stay in sync with the current uploader or CLI. Uploads run through browser automation and platform logins, so they depend on account sessions and on how each platform treats automated activity. Pricing is not stated for the repository.

Key features

  • Automates video uploads to Douyin, Xiaohongshu, WeChat Channels, TikTok, YouTube and Bilibili
  • Additional uploaders for Kuaishou, Baijiahao, Alipay Life Account, Weibo and Hupu
  • Scheduled publishing on Douyin, Bilibili, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, WeChat Channels and TikTok
  • Image-and-text posting on Douyin, Xiaohongshu and Kuaishou
  • sau CLI with login, check and upload commands per account
  • Agent skills for Douyin, Kuaishou, Xiaohongshu and Bilibili upload workflows
Best for: Content creators and operators who publish the same videos across several Chinese and international platforms and prefer a scripted CLI or AI-agent workflow.
Good for
  • Open source and modular, with separate uploader modules per platform that can be configured or extended
  • Covers a broad set of Chinese and international platforms in one tool
  • CLI and agent-skill integration for repeatable, automated upload tasks
Watch out for
  • The web frontend is retained but no longer mainline, with no guarantee that it runs or matches the current uploader and CLI
  • TikTok and some other supported platforms have no CLI or skill support
  • Scheduled publishing and image posts are unavailable on several listed platforms, and uploads rely on browser sessions and platform detection
  • The author notes a long period of limited maintenance before the current refactor
