About Amidst
Amidst is a free, open source tool that displays an overview of a Minecraft world from a given seed and Minecraft version without creating the world. It can save an image of the map, load terrain from an existing save game, and show biome information, slime chunks, end islands, and the locations of several structures, including villages, strongholds, ocean monuments, and nether fortresses.
Amidst cannot show changes applied to a save game, such as changes made with world editors like MCEdit or changes made while the world is loaded in Minecraft. It also cannot locate individual blocks or mobs, such as diamond ore or cows. It uses Mojang web services to show version information and player names and skins, and it checks for updates on every start. It is not owned by or related to Mojang. The project is currently looking for a new maintainer.
