About Arkadia
Arkadia is an interactive digital art project created by Nikolaus Baumgarten and Sophia Schomberg, first launched in 2015. Its core feature is an infinitely zooming botanical floral painting that users can explore continuously, with no fixed endpoint to the zoom.
The experience is available across multiple platforms: web browsers (with Canvas support required), Android, iOS, and macOS. Users can adjust the view with color filters, enable fullscreen mode, and on supported devices, set the artwork as a Mac screensaver or Android live wallpaper for ongoing, ambient display. The project also links to related creative works from the same creators, including Organic City, Infinite Flowers, Hydromeda, and the original Zoomquilt.
