Dexed
Dexed provides a multi-platform FM synth plugin modeled on the Yamaha DX7 and a MIDI cartridge manager for that instrument.

About Dexed
Dexed is a multi-platform, multi-format FM plugin synthesizer closely modeled on the Yamaha DX7. It also works as a MIDI cartridge librarian and manager for DX7 patch files. The homepage lists Mac OS X, Windows and Linux, and lists VST, AU and LV2 as plugin formats. The homepage also describes Dexed as free software licensed under GPL v3.
The plugin puts 144 DAW-automatable DX7 parameters on one panel and shows a real-time VU meter for each operator. It supports DX7 and TX7 SysEx input and output, so it can be used with a native DX7 or TX7 as a patch editor and SysEx manager. Users can load and save DX7 and TX7 SysEx programs. Dexed offers three engine types: Modern, Mark I and an experimental OPL Series engine. The homepage says the engines can be compared, but the OPL Series envelopes still need tuning. Documentation is minimal and is kept on the Dexed Wiki.
