MeshLab processes and edits unstructured triangular 3D meshes, with tools for cleaning, inspecting, rendering, texturing, and preparing models.
Dust3D
Dust3D offers open-source low-poly modeling for games and 3D printing, with sketch-to-mesh, auto-rigging, and animation features.

About Dust3D
Dust3D is a free and open source low-poly 3D modeling tool for video games, 3D printing, and similar uses. It runs on Windows, macOS, and Linux, though the macOS pre-built binary requires Apple Silicon and Intel Macs are not supported. The software focuses on automating parts of character creation: users sketch nodes and edges on a 2D canvas to generate a 3D mesh in real time, label edges with bone names for auto-rigging, tune procedural animation cycles, and export GLB or FBX from within the app. Setup may require extra steps, including manually opening the app on macOS after a Gatekeeper block and installing FUSE for the Linux AppImage if it fails.
Key features
- Real-time 3D mesh generation from nodes and edges drawn on a 2D canvas
- Auto-rigging infers skeleton and computes skin weights from bone-name edge labels
- Procedural animation cycles for walk, run, attack, idle, and death; fully tweakable
- Single-tool pipeline: UV unwrap, texture, rig, animate, and export GLB/FBX
- Cross-platform desktop support for Windows, macOS, and Linux
- Open source code hosted on GitHub
- Free and open source.
- Automates UV unwrapping, rigging, and animation tasks.
- Real-time mesh generation from a 2D sketch canvas.
- macOS pre-built binary requires Apple Silicon; Intel Macs are not supported.
- First macOS launch is blocked by Gatekeeper and must be manually opened.
- Linux AppImage may require FUSE (libfuse2) to run.
