About dwm

dwm is a dynamic window manager for the X11 display server, developed by suckless.org. It manages windows in tiled, monocle, and floating layouts that can be switched dynamically to match the current task, with windows grouped by user-assigned tags for filtered view selection. A small status bar displays tag status, active layout, number of visible windows, focused window title, and optional text read from the root window name property. The window manager is distributed as a single small binary, and is customized exclusively by editing its C source code, with no separate configuration file format to learn. It does not process input data not known at compile time (except window titles and status text from the root window) for improved security, and creates separate views for each connected Xinerama screen.
