fenn
The fenn Python framework supports machine learning workflows and LLM agents, with trainers, templates, logging, and configuration management.

About fenn
fenn is an open-source Python framework for building machine learning and deep learning workflows and LLM agents. It provides prebuilt trainers, templates, logging, and configuration management, so users can focus on their model and data. Projects are installed with pip and started from templates using a command-line tool that lists and downloads templates from the pyfenn/templates repository. Each template includes a main.py entrypoint and a fenn.yaml configuration file.
Logs, print output, and experiment metadata are saved to local files and can also be sent to remote tracking backends, such as Weights & Biases. Notifications through Discord and Telegram depend on those external services being set up. The template command refuses to write into a non-empty directory unless --force is used, and it looks up templates through the unauthenticated GitHub API, which is subject to GitHub's rate limit.
Key features
- Parses YAML configuration files and injects them into the entrypoint, with CLI overrides
- Captures logs, print statements, and experiment metadata to local files and remote backends
- Integrates with Weights & Biases and TensorBoard for experiment tracking and metric visualization
- Sends Discord and Telegram alerts when experiments start, complete, or fail
- Prebuilt trainers for training, validation, and testing loops
- Local web dashboard for browsing, filtering, and renaming experiment sessions
- Removes hardcoded hyperparameters by loading settings from YAML configuration files
- Logging is captured automatically, with no manual setup described in the source
- Open-source repository with a LICENSE file
- The pull command refuses to write into a non-empty directory unless --force is passed, which overwrites existing files
- Template lookup uses the unauthenticated GitHub API and is subject to its rate limit
- Remote tracking and notification features rely on external services such as Weights & Biases, Discord, and Telegram
