About Gallerix
Gallerix is an online museum and art gallery website. It brings together painting collections from 820 art museums, including the Louvre, Prado, Hermitage and Vatican, with more than 170,000 paintings held in the albums of over 10,000 artists. A picture gallery covers famous painters and old masters, with separate sections for Russian painters and other categories.
Beyond the museum, the site hosts ArtClub, where contemporary authors upload their own work, and a shop where those authors sell artworks directly without commissions. Other areas include an art encyclopedia with more than 2,000 articles, a books section with short retellings of novels, a banknote museum, an events schedule, wallpapers and a forum.
Visitors can browse paintings by artist, museum or theme, read reference articles, solve online jigsaw puzzles using any picture on the site or their own file, and register to publish work through an author dashboard. It suits students, teachers, artists and anyone looking for art reference material or a place to show their own work.
