Germania Sacra Online
Germania Sacra documents the institutions of the historic German Church and provides research on archival sources in handbook form.

About Germania Sacra Online
Germania Sacra Online is the website of the Germania Sacra project, based at the Niedersächsische Akademie der Wissenschaften zu Göttingen. The project documents the institutions of the historic German Church and prepares archival sources in handbook form. It covers the period from the early German dioceses in the 3rd and 4th centuries to their dissolution during the Reformation or at the beginning of the 19th century.
The sources are processed according to a uniform pattern so that researchers can work with structured, comparable data on the church of the Old Empire. The project's third series, based at the academy since 2008, describes dioceses and cathedral chapters within the territory of the Federal Republic of Germany. The homepage also lists news, including approval of a project to build a multimodal corpus for AI-based analysis of medieval sources, and new volumes in the project's studies series. The homepage is in German.
