YouTube Party lets people watch YouTube videos together through an online viewing room.
Hergetto
Hergetto lets people watch videos together online in a shared room, with its page describing a couch-style viewing experience.
About Hergetto
Hergetto is a web-based service for watching videos together in a shared online room. Users find or create a room, send the room link to friends, and watch together from their own locations, an approach the site describes as a couch-style viewing experience without the couch.
The project was created during the lockdown period, when visiting a friend's house to watch videos was not possible. The homepage presents it as a way to watch together in a safe way, but it does not state which video sources or platforms are supported, whether an account is required, or how rooms are moderated.
Key features
- Find an existing public room or create a new one
- Invite others by sending them the room link
- Watch videos together in the same shared room
- Runs in the browser, no app install described
- Homepage and interface are in English
Best for: People who want to watch videos with friends or family in a shared online room instead of in the same physical place.
Good for
- Supports both finding an existing room and creating your own
- Joining a session works through a shared link rather than a complex setup
Watch out for
- The homepage does not name supported video sources or services
- No pricing, account or room-moderation details are published
- No information is given about capacity limits or how many people can join a room
