About Just Player
Just Player is an open-source Android video player based on Media3, formerly ExoPlayer, for Android 6 and later including Android TV. It supports listed video, audio, container, streaming and subtitle formats, uses the FFmpeg extension for audio formats such as AC-3, DTS and TrueHD, and syncs audio with video when using Bluetooth earphones or speakers.
It includes audio/subtitle track selection, playback speed control, seek and brightness/volume gestures, zoom, picture-in-picture, volume boost and frame-rate matching on Android TV/boxes. AVI container support is marked as in progress, SSA/ASS subtitles have limited styling, and HDR and AC-4 playback depend on compatible hardware or system decoder.

How do I open subtitle file (e.g. .srt)?
To load external subtitles, long press the file open action in the bottom bar. The first time you do that, you will be offered to select root video folder to enable automatic loading of external subtitles. On Android TV, you can open the video from a file manager, then open the subtitle file in Just Player for use with the last selected video.
