Manabi Reader supports learning Japanese by reading native texts on iOS, iPadOS, and macOS. It provides tap-to-lookup for words and kanji, furigana based on word familiarity, Japanese/English and native Japanese dictionaries, a browser with readability mode and RSS, camera scan and draw-to-lookup, and offline reading.
General reading, bookmarking, and vocabulary/kanji lookup are free. Flashcard creation and detailed word and kanji tracking require a premium subscription. Reading features and analytics are computed and stored locally on the device and in personal iCloud, except Manabi Flashcards data, which is stored on Manabi servers.
