About Mastodon Share Bookmarklet Creator
The Mastodon Share Bookmarklet Creator generates a bookmarklet that shares the current web page to a Mastodon server. The user enters a Mastodon server URL, which the page suggests copying from the address bar of their Mastodon timeline. A test link below the input field checks that the server's post field fills with the page's title and URL. Once the bookmarklet works, it can be dragged to the bookmarks bar and used on any page.
The Customize menu includes an "Open in new window" option, which opens a window instead of a tab. Users can also quote a sentence by selecting it on a page before running the bookmarklet. The source does not describe how the tool handles data or whether it has any usage limits.
