About Mealie

Mealie is a self-hosted web app for recipe management and meal planning. Users install and run it on their own system, and the homepage provides instructions for installing, configuring, and using it, along with an API reference.

Recipes can be imported from supported websites using a built-in scraper, created by pasting structured HTML or JSON, or entered by hand. Meal plans can be arranged on a calendar, and shopping lists can be generated from recipe ingredients. The homepage lists SQLite as the default database, recommended for installations with up to 20 users and local storage. PostgreSQL is suggested for network-attached storage, many concurrent users, or fuzzy search. The homepage also links to Recipinned, a hosted solution from the creator of Mealie, which is presented separately from the self-hosted application.
