About NBlood

NBlood is a collection of reverse-engineered ports of Build engine games, built on EDuke32 engine technology and development principles. The project covers three ports: NBlood (Blood), Rednukem (Duke Nukem 3D, Redneck Rampage and Rides Again, Duke Nukem 64, NAM/NAPALM, World War II GI) and PCExhumed (the PC version of Exhumed/PowerSlave).

Running these ports requires game data files from a purchased copy of the relevant game. If a digital copy is already installed, such as from Steam or GOG, no separate installation is needed; otherwise files must be copied manually from a retail or 1.21 version of the game. Optional extras include CD audio tracks supplied as FLAC or OGG files and cutscene playback when the original CD movie folder is copied in. The source notes that PCExhumed demo playback does not yet work and that its menus are still in development, so settings there are edited in settings.cfg.

NBlood FAQ

Do I need to own the original games to use these ports?
Yes. The ports require data files from a purchased copy. If you have a digital copy installed, such as from Steam or GOG, no further installation is necessary; otherwise you copy the required files from the retail or 1.21 version into the port's folder.
How do I use CD audio tracks instead of MIDI music?
Provide FLAC or OGG recordings named in the expected format (for example bloodXX.flac/ogg for NBlood, where XX is the track number) and enable the redbook audio option in the sound menu.
Which games does Rednukem support?
Duke Nukem 3D: Atomic Edition, Redneck Rampage, Redneck Rampage: Rides Again, Duke Nukem 64, NAM/NAPALM and World War II GI.
