NOMAD is a web-based platform for managing and sharing materials science data. It is developed and operated by FAIRmat as part of a federated data infrastructure for materials science. The platform processes uploaded files to extract structured data and metadata, supporting Find, Access, Interoperate with, and Reuse of FAIR data from different codes, sources, and workflows.
Users can publish data, explore published data, and analyze data programmatically. Publishing includes extracting data from 60+ formats, creating datasets, customizing ELNs, and publishing data with a DOI. Exploring includes searching by metadata, previewing and visualizing data, and downloading files or processed data under CC-BY-4.0. Analysis includes API access, browser-based notebooks, and an AI toolkit. NOMAD Oasis is a related option for groups to manage data on their own resources with controlled access.
