About opensource

Gitingest turns a Git repository URL or local directory into a text digest containing file structure and file contents for language model prompts. The digest can be obtained by replacing 'hub' with 'ingest' in a GitHub URL, through the command line, or by importing it as a Python package.

It requires Python 3.8 or later, and a GitHub personal access token for private repositories. By default, files listed in .gitignore are skipped and command-line output is written to digest.txt.
