About Phidata

Agno is a framework and runtime for building, running, and managing agent platforms. Agents are built with the Agno SDK, run as a service with the AgentOS runtime, and managed through the AgentOS UI, with sessions, memory, knowledge, and traces stored in the user's own database.

The repository provides starter templates for local use with Docker and deployment to container platforms, plus integrations, observability, scheduling, and JWT-based access controls. Setup involves cloning a starter repository and running with Docker, and a telemetry event is sent per agent run unless disabled.

Key features

  • Production API with 50+ endpoints supporting SSE and websockets
  • Store sessions, memory, knowledge, and traces in own database
  • 100+ integrations including GitHub, Slack, and Postgres toolkits
  • Pause runs for human approval and block restricted tools
  • Monitor with OpenTelemetry tracing, run history, and audit logs
  • JWT-based RBAC with multi-user, multi-tenant isolation
Best for: Developers building and operating self-hosted agent platforms with their own database and infrastructure.
Good for
  • Distributed under Apache-2.0 license
  • Stores sessions, memory, and traces in user's own database
  • Runs locally with Docker and deploys to container platforms
Watch out for
  • Sends a telemetry event per agent run unless AGNO_TELEMETRY=false is set
  • Requires Docker or a container platform and starter-template setup to run

Phidata FAQ

Does Agno send telemetry?
Agno sends a telemetry event per agent run to prioritize model providers. Prompts, messages, and outputs are never sent. Disable by setting AGNO_TELEMETRY=false.
How can I run an agent platform locally?
Clone the agentos-railway starter repository, follow the get started guide, and run it locally using Docker to get a REST API, Postgres database, MCP server, and control plane.
