About social-listening-tool

social-listening-tool is an open-source Python project that tracks brand mentions appearing in public search results for Google, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Reddit and X (Twitter). It queries the HasData Google SERP API, uses LLM inference to extract structured insights, saves results as CSV files and chart images, and sends new mentions and insights to a Telegram chat. The workflow runs on a 24-hour cycle.

It is companion code for a YouTube tutorial, licensed under MIT and configured through settings files for brand name, brand description and brand domain. Running it requires Python 3.10+, a HasData API key and an LLM API key; the Telegram bot token and chat ID are optional. Results depend on what Google snippets expose at request time, Google does not return the same results for the same query every time, API usage is tied to the user's HasData account and quota, and LLM output may not be fully consistent.
