Tetherfi
Tetherfi shares an internet connection from Android without root, providing tethering through the TetherFuseNet project.

About Tetherfi
TetherFuseNet is an open-source Android app that shares a device's internet connection with other devices without root. It creates a Wi-Fi Direct legacy group plus an HTTP proxy server; other devices join the broadcast Wi-Fi network and connect to the internet by setting their proxy server settings to the server the app creates. The app runs as a foreground service that the user explicitly turns on and off. A mobile hotspot data plan is not required, though the developers state it works best with unlimited data plans, and it can also be used to create a LAN between devices. The project describes itself as a work in progress: open NAT on consoles is not possible, some online, chat, video and gaming apps do not work, and services such as email may be unavailable, while general web browsing should work subject to the speed and availability of the Android device's connection.
