About TheCMB

TheCMB is a web-based visualization of raw data from the Planck mission showing intensity fluctuations in the cosmic microwave background. It renders the data over a sphere using Healpix tiling with WebGL and three.js, and at the highest resolution the view includes 50 million pixels of information. Users can switch between CMB and GHz channels, choose low, medium or high resolution, and toggle galactic/ecliptic and crosshair displays. The view is controlled with mouse actions or keyboard bindings. The site is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 3.0 Unported License.
