About uAgents
uAgents is an open-source Python library by Fetch.ai for creating autonomous agents. Agents can perform tasks on a schedule or act on events using decorators, register on the Almanac smart contract on the Fetch.ai blockchain at startup, and exchange cryptographically secured messages. Agents registered on Agentverse can report start/stop, message, and error telemetry, which can be toggled.
It requires Python 3.10 to 3.13 and installs with pip. A seed value sets a fixed agent address; without it, the private key is stored locally in private_keys.json, and agents created without a name receive a new address on each run. The project is licensed under Apache License 2.0 and provided as-is without warranty.
