About Vedanta Shastras

Vedanta Shastras is an online library of Hindu spiritual texts, presented in English under the title Vedanta Shastras Library. Its collection covers the three basic Vedanta texts (Upanishads, Bhagavad Gita and Brahma Sutra) along with the Vedas, Vedic hymns, the Valmiki Ramayana, Adi Sankara literature, writings of Swami Vivekananda, the Gospel of Sri Ramakrishna and the Gospel of the Holy Mother, works of Ramana Maharshi, Swami Ramdas, J. Krishnamurti, Nisargadatta Maharaj, plus lessons on Vedanta, prayer hymns (stotras) and Carnatic music kritis. The site was created by Celextel with the stated aim of making these texts widely available.

The library presents these works for reading and inspiration. The site itself points readers to published books for the original text and commentary, so it functions alongside print editions rather than as a critical or annotated edition. No pricing information is given on the homepage.
