About AbyssBox

AbyssBox is a browser-based mod of UltraBox, which is itself a mod of BeepBox, for sketching instrumental music. It provides a pattern editor with multiple rows that can play at the same time, with upper rows for melodies or harmonies and a bottom row for drums, along with additional effects and themes compared to UltraBox. All song data is contained in the browser URL, which updates as the song is edited. To save or share, users copy the URL, with a File > Shorten Song Url option for a more manageable link; songs are not received, recorded, or distributed by AbyssBox servers.

Key features

  • Sketch instrumental music in pattern-based editor
  • Play several pattern rows at the same time
  • Use bottom row for drums, other rows for melodies
  • Add new effects beyond UltraBox base
  • Choose from additional interface themes
  • Save and share songs by copying song URL
Best for: People who want to sketch and share instrumental songs in a browser using a BeepBox-style pattern editor.
Good for
  • Song data stays in the page URL and, according to the site, is not sent to its servers
  • Site states it does not collect, track, or share user data
  • Original songs belong to their authors; the tool does not claim ownership
Watch out for
  • Saving and sharing requires copying the song URL; no server-side song storage is described
