BeepBox
Sketch and share instrumental music online with BeepBox, which stores songs as text data.

About BeepBox
BeepBox is a browser-based tool for sketching and sharing instrumental music. Notes are placed into patterns arranged across several rows that play simultaneously, with the bottom row reserved for drums, and a loop control selects which part of the song repeats during playback. Song data is contained in the URL after the hash mark, so the URL updates as edits are made and can be copied to save or share a song. The site states it is free to use and accepts optional gratuity.
Because the song lives in the URL, BeepBox states that its servers never receive, record or distribute songs, and that it does not collect, track or share user data. The same design means sharing a link shares the song, and no account or cloud backup is described. An offline version can be downloaded for use without an internet connection, and the source code is available under the MIT license.
